Biogas Flare Package Awarded to Hydroflux for Woodman Pt WRRF

October 29, 2024

Western Australia’s largest wastewater treatment plant, Woodman Pt Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF), is currently being upgraded to increase the plant’s sludge treatment capacity to 120 tDS/day and to produce biosolids for soil conditioning plus biogas for energy use.

Hydroflux was awarded the Waste Gas Flare Package that will flare off surplus biogas produced by the anaerobic digesters. Two MTU3000 gas flares shall be provided, each with a capacity of >2000Nm3/h operating at 17mBar.

We are pleased to be providing the gas flare packages which will be used in emergency circumstances; over the last few decades we have provided many technologies to this site, such as the advanced aeration package in the bioreactors. The overall project will see a reduction in energy usage that will lead to approximately 5600 t CO2 emissions each year, so we are excited to be part of such an innovative project” says John Koumoukelis, CEO of Hydroflux.

Hydroflux provides a range of gas flaring packages that can process flows from 50 to 3000 Nm3/h. The packages can include the biogas blower, gas flow monitoring, Control Panel and Condensate knock out pots.
